As many of you might have experienced at least once, on small devices with a slow connection, pictures seem to load forever. The main problem here is that the high-res pictures are loaded and simply get downscaled for the low-res viewport. Avoiding this is a hassle and for that purpose, we built this jQuery plugin. Essentially, jPicture only loads the one picture out of all the picture sizes availible that most accurately fits the viewport the page is displayed on. This means less trouble for you and reduced loading times for lower-res viewports.
